Whether you want to call it a jam band or just a band that jams, there’s nothing like seeing one live—Phish, Widespread Panic, Galactic, or really anything Les Claypool does. Watching all that musical genius just float on in an inspired wind of improv, getting caught in the energy of twenty-minute-long noodles, dancing in rhythm with thousands of your fellow beings. It’s the best trip, man. And it’s a total bummer when it has to end.
Who says it has to? Carry the spirit on after the show is over with an afterparty. There’s almost always a jam band touring near you, and each one has afterparties that you might not even be aware of. Let people know you’re into it by clicking on “I’m Interested,” and let that trip get even longer and stranger.
